December 30, 2016　Winter festival "4545 Matsuri"

"4545 Matsuri" is our last event for the end of the year. We held it in Tokyo during 3 beautiful sunny days. The event moved to Sendai Parco 2, Ginza and Dai Nagoya the weekend right after. We thank you all for all your support during the past year, and we are looking forward seeing you again very soon!s!

When you cross the outside gate of Badou-R entrance, you can see the huge lantern hanging on the middle. It might remind you that you are back home. Standing in front of you, this traditional paper lantern looks like familiar and is welcoming you.

This is year we created a Christmas tree made of 45R original gift boxes. Surrounded by many lights the three is smiling to you. The cottons balls on the floor looked like snow.

If we have to pick a word to describe the 4545 Matsuri, it would be Indigo. We have here a selection of items representing the best way the upcoming season. Did you know that indigo color reveals is best under sunshine?

The theme is “Denim de Urake”. Urake is a kind of sweat fabric similar to pile towel this time. But we also made checks and flower jacquard items as well. This series is very popular for Men and Ladies.

4545 Matsuri means also that we have to do the “Mochi-tsuki”. This is a tradition here that we have to respect by yelling “Wasshoi!” each time we hit the rice paste. This ritual is like a poetry to end nicely the year.

If fact the rice we used brown rice to make the Mochi this time. Rice paste made of brown rice is actually quite rare. We prepared the Mochi with some delicious, sweet organic red beans.

Here a quick look on Kyoto store side of the event.
At the entrance inside you can admire a different type of gift box Christmas tree with 3 line of denim on the side on the wall. A very Christmassy display! Merry Christmas with indigo!

Kyoto store comes directly on the street, so we had to do the Mochi-Tsuki on the front of all the curious walking people. We had the chance to see some customers suddenly participating. We also prepared here the same Omotenashi.

We have been able to welcome a lot of customer this time again. We would like to thank a lot for all your support and interest the past year. We hope that you will enjoy our 2017 Matsuri events as much as this year.

What is Omatsuri?

Our Omatsuri are events through which we share with you the traditional festivals that are unique to Japan. We started our Omatsuri in the summer of 2009.
We hold events at our some stores in Japan four times a year, welcoming you with special seasonal items, garments and seasonal foods – Omotenashi.
